Have problems with Windows 10/11 PRO that cannot access Samba shared folders without password?
You click on the device and errors like that show to you?
Error code: 0x80070035
The network path was not found.
Well… fixing that is easy… after you found how. It took me 3 days of trial and error to make that crappy protocol work in 2025 🙂
Steps to fix that:
- Start Group Policy Editor (WIN+R, then gpedit.msc – it’s not available by default in Windows Home)
- Go to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options
- Double click on Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (always)
- Select Disabled then click OK
- Still in Gpedit go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > Lanman Workstation
- Double click Enable insecure guest logons
- Select Enabled > OK
Close GPEDIT. Done.
